Its all ellipses...

If you have observed, the first and the last sip of your drink tastes the best & is satisfying. The last drop of my dark Ethiopian brew did not disappoint. The rich flavor filled my taste bud in entirety as i still think about Theory of Forms and"Eiger dreams". Yes, they belong to different plane. But, doesn't our thoughts soar at different planes most of the times.

Every day is a progress..

This would be Day 6 of "No Alcohol" resolution. I definitely was ignorant of what i was wishing for. It is definitely tough, not in the sense of being alcoholic. Given the fact, i do not like to be told what to do or bound by rules (most of the times), this resolution is like a noose tightening around my neck, especially when i see those 6 bottles of Corona Light glowin' in my refrigerator light. Phew, letting go is tough.

So, figured i can try unicycle as my next new (ad)venture. Why unicycle? No idea, just wanted to try something different & cool - so, unicycle it is. I have been scouting to get the right equipment but whats wrong with Austin, none of the stores carry unicycle!!! (any pointers other than web purchase - very much welcome) I have sent emails to craig's list ads, still awaiting their reply. It would be pretty cool to get it started asap, given i have good amount of time at my disposal with no project.

We exchanged Xmas gifts during our PR vacation. Amongst various gifts, coolest thing i received was the Yard Glass for drinking beer (duh, now i use it for drinking gatorade with chia seeds!!!) & all the books authored by Jon Krakauer sans INTO THIN AIR. These books are like my primer to the third resolution. I am just about to finish 2 books leaving me with another 28 to read. Wohoo.

Its a race weekend, so what?

Well, its that time of the year - Bandera 100K. Unlike last couple of years, my excitement is subdued - in a right way. The weather sounds to be a spoil sport with temp reaching teens and single digit over the course of the evening. Not the type i relish but who can control those. Well, some motivation to run hard.

My last run was a moderately hard 5 miler (35 mins) early this week. Midway through the run the PF pain flared up. I better visit the doc now. So i call SPI to hear this lady say, "Am sorry, Dr Spears is on vacation". Now, i need to wait. Anyways, talking about running, yeah,my current form is like this GM big iron which has been out of service for ages rickety & squealing due to rust. All this down time has been well used towards isometrics and core exercises. Hopefully this translate to some better than average performance this weekend provided my foot holds good.
